This has been the best fall ever! Lots of warm days made the leaves stay on the trees longer, and I really think it was more beautiful than usual.
I did 5 mini-sessions a couple weeks ago down by The Ranche in Fish Creek. It was the first time I had shot down there, and now understand why it’s a fave spot for local photogs. It’s beautiful!
Here’s a handful of images from those sessions.
If you are interested in outdoor shoots this year, keep in mind I’m a big wimp when it comes to cold weather – so time is running out. I did a shoot this morning and it was only 9 degrees…I can’t handle much colder than that!
I was also interviewed by The Calgary Journal after I did these shoots – see the article here!
Colleen and I met more than 10 years ago. She was my boss. We hit it off quickly and turned into great friends. Over the years, we have done many lunches, that turned into couple’s dinners when she met Matt. We’ve since been honored guests at their wedding (shot by the amazing Alan Maudie), which no other will compare…Banff Springs…um, hello! We’ve had many, MANY late nights laughing and playing games, and have even shared some tears together as well. They have seen us at our worst – beat down from baby #3, fragile and on the edge marital destruction (not to be dramatic or anything, LOL!), and helped us get through that period of our lives with honest and sincere advice.
We have the type of friendship that is built on total and complete admiration. I thought, and still think, that she is the most put together, self-made, successful woman I know. She is brilliant, funny and gorgeous, and for a lot of years I felt like she was completely out of my friend ‘league’. Every time we get together I am reminded of how honored that I am her friend. Oh and Matt’s too!
And now, she has a belly. And will soon have the most gorgeous baby, who will grow up with amazing parents. Parents who understand so much about how the world works.
I’m so excited to meet the little miss or mister, who will be here within a couple weeks!
I Am Sooo behind in blogging! I have 7 sessions and a Portrait Party to blog! Yikes!
Here’s a very fun shoot I did back at the beginning of November. Outside, on a chilly day. We were going to go to the barn, but then some friendly police officers had set up shop doing a speed trap, so onward we went to Fish Creek!
Thanks for trusting me with your family shoot this year guys! It was fun to meet another family from my neighbourhood. Sorry you had to wait so long to see yourself blogged!
And for those of you who are waiting to hear the announcement for the winners of my “Giving is Awesome” contest for this year…it’s on my Facebook Page. More details to come on the blog in January.
Thanks again to all my amazing clients in 2010. Looking forward to starting 2011 with a bang…2 Newborns in the next couple weeks! One’s coming TOMORROW…can’t wait to meet HER (I think it’s a HER).
This is another bunch of people I go WAY back with.
I went to High School with Kim & AJ. I was deathly afraid of AJ’s big sister Robyn (although it was often handy having a friend with a big sister with ID), and the tall strapping young man was my first personal encounter with a premature baby, until my own.
Rounding out this crazy bunch are two of the funnest, most loving parents & grandparents EVER. Thom’s line, “There might be smoke on the top, but there’s still fire in the basement” had me laughing all the way home.
