This was my busiest fall ever. Thanks to all my awesome regulars and tons of new clients!
All but one of my fall sessions were down by the Ranche in Fish Creek this year. As much as I try to get to some new places, I just keep going back there. It has some of the best backgrounds I’ve ever seen. The biggest problem with this, is that when I go to blog, all the sessions look so similar! Well, and fighting for spots with other photographers!
But alas, here they are!
The ‘Best Dressed’ award goes to this family. I just love how coordinated they were. The plum colour looks great with the fall background!
This was the most meaningful shoot for me this fall – probably all year. It’s coincidentally the only session not done at the Ranche! This little guy has Autism and it was a tough shoot. I was seriously cheering when I uploaded them to my computer and saw the good ones. Trust me, the ones where he’s looking at the camera were TOUGH to get. I’m super pleased with what I was able to capture.
This family deserves a shout-out. I was late for their session. Well, it was worse than that. I actually forgot about their session. By the time they called me, and I got there, I was 48 minutes late. Thankfully, they were awesome about it, and I ended up with better light than I would have had if we had started on time. Everything happens for a reason. Or because you forget to put it in your calendar. 😉
And talk about sweet light! This was an incredible night for light:
Here are my faves from Shoots from Mid-November until the end of 2012. I also want to say Thank-You to all my clients from 2012. It was an awesome year & I’m so grateful I get to do this!
The Following are all from a Portrait Party I did in Sylvan Lake in December:
Don’t forget about my DSLR Course coming up on January 26th. There’s still a few seats left.
As a photographer, I spend the entire months of October & November doing family portraits for everyone else. Today, I managed to wrangle up the family to do our photos.
Last year we tried to be a little creative, with the frame in frame shot (so glad I ditched the blonde hair since then!):
The few years prior, we always just did the normal studio shots.
But this year, we decided to do a portrait that showed who we really are. This is what we came up with:
I love it! Below are some other shots we got today.
The ‘Using a Tripod has Some Cons’ shot (cut off the girl’s head):
The famous ‘Hilton Pose’ shot:
The ‘Mom was Posing’ shot:
The ‘Black and White’ shot (this is the one that will be framed for the wall – but in color):
And, the ‘We Tried one with the Dog’ shot (even though the dog wasn’t looking and is cut off…I still like it):
It was first time we had all five of us in the new studio…and I’m a fan! We didn’t even have to use a backdrop (although I did have to airbrush an electrical plug out of some of them!)
